Vintage Bear's Paw Quilt

Soft, serene, and beautifully understated, this vintage quilt measures approximately 88" x 102" and features a lovely combination of mint green and soft neutral tones. The mint fabrics have retained their color remarkably well over the years, while the taupe squares are believed to have originally been a rosy pink shade that gradually softened and faded through decades of loving use and laundering. The result is a gentle, timeworn palette that gives this quilt its unmistakable vintage charm. Hand quilted and hand bound, the quilt showcases wonderful craftsmanship and a delicate quilting pattern throughout. The batting is thin, allowing the quilt to drape beautifully while remaining lightweight and comfortable.

This quilt has been laundered by Janj Threads and presents beautifully. The only remaining evidence of its age is a faint area of yellowing near the head of the quilt. Generously sized and exceptionally versatile, it would be equally at home layered on a bed, displayed in a guest room, or draped over a favorite chair. Its soft colors, graceful fading, and hand-finished details create the kind of timeless character that only a well-loved vintage quilt can offer.

Condition: Excellent structually, the taupe colored squares have faded from their original pink.
Circa: 1935–1950. The soft pastel palette, traditional block design, and hand-quilted construction are characteristic of quilts made during the late Depression Era through the post-war years.
