Vintage Quilt Rob Peter to Pay Paul

This vintage quilt features the Rob Peter to Pay Paul pattern, identified as design #1472 in Barbara Brackman’s Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns and originally published by Hinson’s Quilt Monthly. Its graceful interlocking curves are created with soft lavender solids and cheerful floral prints set against an off-white background. The quilt measures approximately 75" x 84" and is entirely hand pieced. Hand-stitched quilting and thin batting give it a lightweight feel while beautifully highlighting the curved piecing and geometric quilting designs.

The quilt is finished with an applied binding that was stitched in place by hand. It remains in excellent structural condition, with no fraying, fabric loss, or deterioration. There is fading throughout some of the lavender fabric pieces, adding gentle variation to the color and reflecting the quilt’s age and history. A lovely example of traditional handwork, this quilt is well suited for display, collection, or use.
