Hand pieced and beautifully hand appliquéd vintage butterfly quilt made from an eclectic mix of feedsack, dress, and scrap cotton fabrics, circa 1940–1955. Measuring approximately 82 x 94, this generously sized quilt features rows of whimsical butterflies dancing across a wonderfully scrappy patchwork setting filled with cheerful florals, plaids, novelty prints, and nursery-style fabrics in soft reds, blues, aqua, and warm ivory tones. The dimensional blanket-stitched butterflies and charming “puffy cloud” machine quilting and binding give this quilt an unmistakable folk-art warmth and cozy farmhouse character.

This quilt captures the true spirit of mid-century utility quilting — lovingly made from saved scraps, feedsacks, and treasured bits of fabric gathered over time.
