Vintage Chuck-A-Luck Variation Quilt

This charming Vintage Chuck-a-Luck Variation Quilt is a wonderful example of a lesser-seen Depression-era pattern, believed to be based on Nancy Cabot's 1937 Chuck-a-Luck design. Soft aqua sashing alternate with colorful pieced blocks featuring an eclectic mix of florals, plaids, shirtings, stripes, and novelty prints, creating a cheerful and visually engaging quilt. The combination of fabrics gives this piece a true make-do quality, showcasing the resourcefulness and creativity of its maker. Measuring 70" x 77", it is an inviting size for display, layering, or collecting.

The quilt is hand quilted throughout and finished with a machine-sewn applied binding. A thin batting provides a lightweight feel while still offering a touch of softness and loft. Overall, the quilt remains in very good vintage condition with one small seam separation, one spot, and some slight fraying along portions of the binding, as shown in the photos. Its pleasing color palette, interesting fabric assortment, and documented pattern attribution make this a wonderful addition to any vintage quilt collection.

This quilt has not been laundered by Janj Threads.
