Antique Quilt Cadet Blue Triple Irish Chain

Tiny squares, timeless beauty, and lovely handwork make this antique Triple Irish Chain quilt a special find. Measuring 66" x 76", it features 1" squares of cadet blue and white arranged into graceful, intersecting chains. The cadet blue fabrics are characteristic of those made and used during the 1880s through 1910, supporting an estimated date within that period.

Hand-stitched quilting adds beautiful texture throughout, while thin batting gives the quilt a lightweight feel. An applied binding, finished with hand stitches, frames the intricate patchwork.

The quilt is in excellent antique condition. The front is free of spots, and one white square has been replaced, as shown in the photos. The backing has a series of spots along a vertical fold line extending the full length of the quilt. Please review the photos closely for these details.

I have not laundered this quilt. The backing spots may lighten or possibly wash out with careful soaking, although removal cannot be guaranteed. Any laundering should be approached gently, with colorfastness testing completed beforehand.

A beautiful piece of antique needlework, with little blue squares that come together to make a lasting impression.
