Vintage Yellow Sunbonnet Sue Quilt **SOLD**
✨ Vintage Yellow Sunbonnet Sue Quilt ✨
This sweet vintage Sunbonnet Sue quilt is full of charm, softness, and the kind of handmade detail that instantly feels like home. ✂️🧵
Featuring rows of beautifully appliquéd Sunbonnet Sue figures dressed in cheerful florals, stripes, and feedsack-inspired prints, this quilt captures the warmth and innocence that made the pattern one of the most beloved quilt designs of the 1930s and 1940s.
The soft buttery yellow setting fabric and scalloped border frame each Sue so beautifully, while the machine quilting adds wonderful texture and movement throughout the quilt. Every Sue has her own personality, dress, and bonnet, making each block feel like a tiny piece of vintage folk art.
Many of the fabrics appear to be classic feedsack cottons mixed with later mid-century prints, giving the quilt that layered, “saved over time” farmhouse feel we love so much at Janj Threads. Quilts like this were often made from treasured scraps—pieces of dresses, aprons, flour sacks, and cherished fabric bits too special to waste.
This quilt is being sold as a whole quilt and measures approximately:
