dressed in a delightful variety of fabrics, including florals, plaids, ginghams, and novelty prints. Each Sue is outlined with bold black blanket stitching, giving the quilt a wonderful folk-art character and allowing the colorful dresses to stand out against the cheerful pink-and-white setting. The quilt is hand quilted throughout with large floral motifs that create beautiful texture across both the front and back. The batting is thin with a touch of loft, giving the quilt a soft, lightweight feel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe front of the quilt is clean, and the Sunbonnet Sue appliqués remain in excellent condition. At some point in the quilt's life, the binding appears to have been replaced. The black machine-applied binding is not neatly attached throughout, and in several areas the backing and batting were not fully caught in the binding, leaving portions of both exposed along the edges.
