Vintage Quilt Martha Washington's Flower Garden

A beautiful garden of elongated patchwork diamonds, framed in white and connected by rich green pathways! This Martha Washington’s Flower Garden quilt features a charming mixture of feedsack fabrics, other vintage floral and geometric cotton prints, and solid-colored cottons. Blue, mint green, pink, lavender, and yellow bring a cheerful, nostalgic feel to its carefully arranged gardens.

The fabrics and color palette suggest circa 1930s–1940s, although the quilt’s completion date is unknown. Measuring 86" x 94", it has thin batting, an applied binding finished by machine, and machine-stitched quilting. Flowing feathers, curls, and loops add lovely texture throughout, showing especially well against the plain backing.

This quilt is in excellent vintage condition, with no notable issues on the front. The backing has some yellowing along the center fold lines, as shown in the photographs. This may lighten with gentle soaking, though removal cannot be guaranteed. Test fabrics for colorfastness before laundering.

A lovely choice for a vintage-inspired bedroom, a quilt collection, or anyone who appreciates the delightful prints and resourceful beauty of feedsack patchwork.

This quilt has not been laundered by Janj Threads. Any cleaning decisions have been left to the next caretaker to preserve the quilt according to their preferences.
