Vintage Quilt Double Wedding Ring

This colorful vintage Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt measures approximately 68" x 71". Its hexagon flowers combine rich red petals and cheerful yellow centers with two lovely floral cotton prints, all set against white and framed by a strong red pathway. The large pink rose print and smaller multicolored floral appear consistent with feedsack or dressmaking fabrics of the 1940s–1950s. The quilt top was likely pieced during that period and finished later with allover machine quilting in contrasting blue thread.

The quilt has thin batting and an applied binding that is hand stitched. There is fraying along portions of the binding, and the machine quilting is missing or has come undone in several areas. Despite these condition issues, all of the pieced flowers remain intact. A wonderfully graphic vintage quilt with an appealing mix of mid-century florals and bold solid colors. 

This quilt has not been laundered by Janj Threads. Any cleaning decisions have been left to the next caretaker to preserve the quilt according to their preferences.
