Vintage Quilt Eight-Point Star Quilt

This cheerful vintage quilt features colorful Eight-Point Stars constructed from 45-degree diamonds and set against a soft white background. Each scrappy star has its own distinctive combination of pink, blue, red, yellow, green, lavender, orange, brown and gray solid cotton fabrics. The varied color palette gives every star an individual personality while creating a lively, beautifully balanced overall design. Based on the fabrics and workmanship, this quilt is estimated to date from circa 1940s–1950s.

Measuring approximately 64" x 87", the quilt is hand quilted and contains thin batting with a slight amount of loft. The applied binding is machine stitched. It remains in excellent structural condition with no fabric loss or seam separation. There are two small patches on the backing, areas of blue and yellow rogue dye transfer and some overall dinginess, all shown in the photographs. A careful soaking may help brighten the quilt. This is a colorful and well-preserved vintage quilt ready to display, decorate with or add to a collection.

This quilt has not been laundered by Janj Threads. Any cleaning decisions have been left to the next caretaker to preserve the quilt according to their preferences. I highly recommend testing the colors for fastness before washing this quilt.
