Vintage Quilt Drunkard's Path

This beautiful vintage Drunkard’s Path quilt is approximately 74" x 90" and features a classic two-color design in soft lavender and white. The curved pieces are skillfully arranged to create interlocking wheels, pinwheels and striking four-pointed secondary patterns. Hand quilting averaging approximately 7 stitches per inch follows the graceful curves and block seams, while the two outer borders feature amazing crosshatch quilting that beautifully frames the design. Thin batting gives the quilt a soft drape and lovely vintage texture.

The quilt is finished with a matching lavender applied binding that is hand stitched and remains in good condition. Some fading is present in the lavender fabric, and a few small spots are noted. There is also yellowing on the reverse, most notably along the head end. With its timeless pattern, soothing color palette and impressive hand quilting, this circa 1930s–1940s quilt is a wonderful example of traditional quilt making.  

This quilt has been gently laundered by Janj Threads using quilt safe methods.  While every effort has been made to preserve the quilt's original character, signs of age and use may still be present. The quilt is clean, fresh and ready to enjoy. Some yellowing still exists and would likely be faded further by sun exposure.
