Vintage Quilt Double Wedding Ring

THIS IS A CUTTER/STACKER QUILT

Few quilt patterns are as iconic or beloved as the Double Wedding Ring. Introduced to widespread popularity during the 1930s—particularly after its publication in newspapers such as the Chicago Tribune in 1933—the pattern became a symbol of love, unity, and enduring commitment. This beautiful example features the classic interlocking rings, hand pieced with an eye-catching assortment of Depression-era fabrics. Throughout the rings you'll find a delightful mix of authentic 1930s and 1940s feedsack prints, tiny florals, novelty prints, and cheerful calicos in soft pastel hues that perfectly capture the charm of the era. Measuring 66" x 84", the quilt is entirely hand pieced, hand quilted, and finished with an applied binding that has been hand stitched.

This quilt is being offered as a cutter quilt due to extensive fabric deterioration and loss throughout the quilt. Many of the printed fabrics remain remarkably vibrant and usable, while several of the solid connector squares have experienced the shattering often seen in vintage cottons of this age. Despite its condition, it remains an exceptional source of authentic antique and vintage fabrics for quilting, slow stitching, textile art, pillows, bags, journals, ornaments, and other creative upcycling projects. Whether you treasure it for its history, harvest its beautiful Depression-era prints, or display it as a reminder of generations of hand craftsmanship, this Double Wedding Ring quilt still has many stories—and stitches—left to share.
