Vintage Quilt Checkered  Board

This charming 38" x 50" Checkered Board Quilt is a delightful example of a true vintage scrap quilt, pieced from a wonderful assortment of authentic cotton fabrics. Throughout the quilt you'll find a cheerful mix of feedsack prints, woven ginghams, florals, novelty prints, shirtings, and colorful solids, creating a lively patchwork that reflects the resourcefulness and creativity of its maker. The quilt is finished with an applied binding that has been hand stitched, and the hand quilting adds beautiful texture and character to this smaller-sized piece.

Whether displayed as a wall hanging, draped over a chair, or used as a child's or lap quilt, this piece offers timeless vintage appeal. It remains in very good vintage condition with only a few minor flaws, all of which are documented in the photographs. Please review the photos carefully as they are considered part of the description.

This quilt has not been laundered by Janj Threads. Any Cleaning decisions have been left to the next caretaker to preserve the quilt according to their preferences.

  • Circa:  Late 1930s–1940s. The fabric selection strongly suggests this period, with numerous authentic feedsack prints, woven ginghams, Depression-era florals, novelty prints, and vintage cotton solids commonly found in quilts made during the late Depression and World War II years. The broad variety of fabrics gives this quilt the unmistakable charm of a genuine period scrap quilt.
