Vintage Quilt Betty's Delight

This beautiful vintage quilt showcases Betty's Delight, the On Point Variation of Brackman's Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns #1288. According to Brackman, the earliest documented publication of this pattern appeared in the Kansas City Star in 1949. The on-point setting creates an elegant lattice of white sashing that beautifully frames a cheerful assortment of colorful pieced diamonds. The maker incorporated a wonderful collection of late-1930s and 1940s fabrics, including feedsack prints, florals, plaids, stripes, novelty prints, and conversation fabrics, giving the quilt a light, fresh appearance that is full of vintage charm. A soft lavender applied binding, hand stitched in place, provides the perfect finishing touch.

Measuring 70" x 82", this quilt features medium-weight batting and is entirely hand quilted, with careful stitching that enhances the geometric design while creating a soft, inviting texture. The quilt remains in excellent vintage condition, with no notable spots, holes, or significant wear observed. Beautifully preserved and expertly crafted, this is a wonderful example of mid-century American quiltmaking and would make a stunning addition to any collection or home.

This quilt has been gently laundered by Janj Threads using quilt-safe methods. While every effort has been made to preserve the quilt's original character, signs of age and use may still be present. The quilt is clean, fresh, and ready to enjoy.
