Vintage Quilt Grandmother's Flower Garden

This beautiful 79" x 84" Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt is a wonderful example of Depression-era craftsmanship, hand pieced and hand quilted using an exceptional collection of authentic feedsack fabrics. Each flower features a sunny yellow center surrounded by cheerful florals and soft solids in classic 1930s colors, all framed by a rich green lattice that creates the appearance of blossoms growing throughout a garden. Every flower remains intact, showcasing the remarkable care and skill of its maker. The quilt is finished with an applied, hand-stitched binding and lightweight batting, giving it a soft, graceful drape. To the best of my knowledge, this quilt dates to the late 1930s through the 1940s, based on the extensive use of period feedsack fabrics, the unmistakable Depression-era color palette, the popularity of the Grandmother's Flower Garden pattern during this period, and its traditional hand piecing and hand quilting.

This quilt has not been washed by Janj Threads and retains the honest character expected of a well-loved vintage heirloom. The applied hand-stitched binding has separated along much of the edge and would benefit from repair or stabilization. There is one small wear hole on the backing, two small spots on the front, and faint yellowing near the head of the quilt. Despite these age-related imperfections, the quilt remains a beautiful example of vintage American quilting, with all flower blocks intact and an outstanding assortment of period fabrics. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are considered part of the description and document the quilt's overall condition and imperfections.
