Vintage Feedsack Dresden Plate Cutter Quilt

THIS IS A CUTTER QUILT

This vintage Dresden Plate cutter quilt measures an impressive 82" x 98" and is overflowing with colorful feedsack-era charm. Dating to approximately the 1930s–1940s, the quilt features twenty Dresden Plate blocks, each measuring roughly 14.5" square. Twelve of the plates remain fully intact, showcasing a delightful collection of cheerful prints and colors that made this pattern a Depression-era favorite. The quilt is hand quilted and hand bound, and the lofty batting gives it a surprisingly light, cloud-soft feel that only comes from decades of gentle use and aging.

This quilt is being offered as a cutter quilt. Eight of the twenty plates have experienced varying degrees of fabric loss or deterioration, though at least half of those damaged plates still retain substantial usable sections. The remaining intact plates, along with many of the partial plates, provide an abundance of beautiful vintage fabric for repurposing projects. Imagine these colorful Dresden blades transformed into pillows, tote bags, wall hangings, teddy bears, table runners, quilted jackets, Christmas stockings, or other one-of-a-kind creations. Whether you're a collector of vintage textiles or a maker searching for authentic feedsack fabrics and handwork, this well-loved quilt still has plenty of beauty left to share and many more stories waiting to be stitched.
