Vintage Bow Tie 3D Variation Quilt

This charming vintage Bow Tie Quilt (3D Variation) measures 75" x 90" and showcases a delightful assortment of feedsack florals, plaids, ginghams, juvenile novelty prints, and dress fabrics. The dimensional bow tie centers add wonderful texture and visual interest, making this a particularly appealing example of a classic American quilt pattern. The quilt is hand quilted and finished with a machine-stitched knife-edge binding. Turn it over and you will find a delightful vintage fabric backing in yellow and orange floral.

We estimate this quilt to date from the 1940s to early 1950s, based on the wonderful collection of Depression-era and wartime novelty fabrics used throughout the quilt, including children's prints, feedsack florals, and colorful scrap fabrics. The batting is a medium weight with a bit of loft, giving the quilt a cozy feel. We do not believe this quilt has ever been laundered, allowing the fabrics to retain their original character and crispness. A beautiful and authentic piece of American quilting history.

This quilt has not been laundered by Janj Threads.
